how do i connect my dvd player to play on a TCL 43" Smart TV?

DVD player with a USB slot and 3(red/green/red) jacks to connect and play to TCL 43"Smart TV.

You will need an active component video plus audio to HDMI converter (not a passive cable) or a new DVD player with HDMI. I would get a new bluray player. Should give you a better picture.

Have a blue ray cd player & a new TLC smart tv. How & what do i need to watch a movie?
