How do i connect my laptop to my tv with a hdmi cable

Hello to all
I have a hp compaq 6735s laptop i bought a hdmi cable so i can connect to my philips tv i have changed all sorts of settings on my laptop and still got no signal on my tv i have even downloaded updates for my graphics and moniter and still nothing hope someone can help me with this problem thank you all very much

that setting will be in the TV's menu. Look for that particular HDMI port and select it. To watch TV, switch it back......... tv runs on hdmi "1"........ you have your computer plugged into hdmi "4"..... make it point to 4.
