How do i connect my old PCs Hard drive to my new laptop

How do i connect my old PCs Harddrive to my new laptop to take backup while I reinstall windows ?
I Have about 180 Gb of data that I cant keep on a pen drive or something .I do still have my old Pc which works fine except for a few issues , But its hard drive works. But I dont know how I can take it from there and connect it in my laptop. I dont really want to buy a bigger capacity pendrive or sdd and I have this option, I am just asking if that's possible to do.

You will obviously have to disconnect your HDD from your PC, and create a new folder for your backup.

I have one and use it regularly for doing the same thing as you.

So old pc still works, right?
Just connect laptop and old pc to the same network,
share data on pc,
access shared data from laptop and
copy over.
Done.
