How do I connect new HD TV to DVD player and old stero

I have 2 cords with yellow,red and white jacks.

We can't give you an exact answer since we can't guess what makes and models you have.
Most TVs have digital audio output. If the stereo only has RCA analog inputs you will need a digital to analog converter. Check the TV manual on how to use the output.
Some TVs have a shared component - composite video input. Check the manual.
If the TV doesn't have any inputs but HDMI then get a new DVD player with HDMI or get a composite video audio to HDMI converter. A cable won't work.
