How do I reboot my acer aspire 5733z4851

My sons acer won't start...it says PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM.
No bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key(dont have disk)


does anyone know how to correct this before I send it to ACER REPAIR CENTER. i can get into (F2)setup utility
or (f12) reboot, but my options are;

1- IDE 0: WDC WD5000BPVT-22HXZT-1
2- IDE 1: Slimtype DVD A DS8A5SH
3- Network Boot: LEGACY PCI DEVICE

I have tried F8, ALT-F10, plz help!!

Sounds like the western digital HD is damaged.
Can you power down, disconnect and reconnect the hard drive? Make sure the IDE and power cables are snug.

Does the hard drive spin\vibrate at all when you power up?

I did power down and disconnected the hard drive...I really don't know what the IDE is and where the cables are. plz let me know where they are and I will check them. I am daring enough.
