How do I reboot the Toshiba satellite C850D -11Q

Hi my laptop failed on me today and I have been trying all day to get it working it starts up as normal... the keys light up and the lights on the front come on and the Toshiba logo comes onthen goes blank for a few minutes and then has a dash in the top left hand corner and about a minute or two later it comes up no bookable device - please restart system

You need to replace the Hard drive, it has more than likely failed.
to further test, you can use a boot disk like hirens to run seatools and test the actual drive.
If the hard drive has in fact failed, you will need to replace the drive and reinstall the operating system from your system boot disk or from recovery disks.
