How do I return to regular programming from the light blue setting "component"menu

I wa trying to get the smart Samsung to run my DVDs in color. They are black and white. I am stuck in the light blue screen showing "component", "home" etc. I want to just return to regular TV programming, but which ever device or buttons I use, I am not able to get back to TV.

Assuming you tried fresh batteries in the remote you may have to unplug the TV from AC for a minute.
You b&w problem may be because your TV has a shared component-composite video input. If you set that to composite you will get a color picture. Check the TV manual for details.
