How do I set default page settings?

I keep getting documents I open in two-page format. Then I use settings to set to single page, then I zoom to "page width". How can I set this as my default, so I don't have to set it every time?

open a word page then on then press welcome tab after on the bottom right press the single page option that should stay on .

Are you talking about Acrobat Reader? You can set this in Preferences..
