How do I unlock voltage control through MSI Afterburner

When I go to settings and unlock voltage control for my nvidia 9800 GT 512mb and restart MSI or even restart my computer, the voltage control is still locked and I'm worried if I overclock my card too much without being able to change the voltage, its not going to read well. Could somebody help me out with this? Thanks I'd appreciate it.

Whether or not it will work, I don't know, but it does seem risky either way.

Yeah, I'd prefer not to volt mod my card, its already bad enough for the card to overclock it.. I guess I'm stuck with the current settings it has right now since I can't change the voltage.

Yeah. At that point, you might as well just get a new, cheap card if you really need better performance.
