Question How do you get a cursor back on a laptop

when i move my touchpad it just scrolls the windows i have open. how do I get a cursor back?

on my laptop . I hold down 3buttons together My cursor Is Like a square which I can move around I think it is due to magnification.

I hold down the button next to the ALT ( windows Picture)
and also the X Button and
ESC button

Did you already try a reboot of the laptop? Is the cursor not there at all even when it's started clean? Maybe a bad touchpad, try attaching an external mouse.
