Solved! How does aspect ratio affect the gaming performance in smartphones?

Hey guys
so the new LG G6 and Galaxy S8/S8+ has the bizarre aspect ratio of 2:1 and 18.5:9,
I was wondering how this is going to affect the gaming performance. I am guessing that most games nowadays are ideal for 16:9 ratio so does the android have to do extra work to adjust to fullscreen and therefore it will affect gaming performance?

The only thing that would matter is how many pixels are on the screen, not the shape of the screen.
