How does Dell retrieve a Dell laptop stolen from delivery

Dell told me that my new Dell 17 laptop was delivered outside my front door which was left with out side without a knock or a signature. Dell is taken care of it with a second delivery. Can Dell find the first one? I have a good idea who it was but you just can't go and accuse someone.

They probably don't. They could file a police report and that about it.
