To what extent can my laptop be used for gaming? And is it possible to upgrade it and make it more capable of playing more demanding games?

That is not a complete CPU model #.

Modern Intel CPUs have 4 digits to identify the Core i3 / i5 / i7 CPUs. For example, i3-7100u , i5-7200u, and i7-7500u.


Whatever Intel HD graphics core the laptop has, the only way to improve performance is to install a 2nd stick of RAM if it only has one stick installed. With two sticks of RAM installed, the RAM will run at full speed rather than half speed. That can generally increase performance by 10% to 15% depending on the specific game. That is all you can do.
