So... the RIAA employee basically says they're doing something that would be illegal in non electronic means. This is basically searching without a warrant by a non law enforcement officer.

It's as if someone just snuck into your house to find evidence you did something illegal and steal proof. Breaks the 4th amendment if it's done by physical means.
