How to access/enable data plan on Samsung Galaxy S2

I'm with the Petro Canada Mobility plan and have added the unlimited browsing to my plan. I am unsure of how to access/enable the data usage on my Samsung Galaxy S2. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I've set up an APN with the following info


Name: test
APN: goam.com
Proxy: 10.128.1.69
Port: 80
Username: wapuser1
Password: wap
Server: none
MMSC: httpmms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720
Authentication type: not set
APN type: internet + mms
APN protocol: IPv4
APN enabled/disabled: enabled
bearer: unspecified

Any other APN setting left untouched.


I have network mode set to GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode)
Use packet Data and Data Roaming and enabled
When I scan for Network Operators I click on Petro Canada
When I hold down the power button I have data network mode set to activated

Still no luck enabling the web browsing, what am I doing wrong? Is it because my firmware is incorrect or is it because I rooted my phone?
