How to become a CEH?

Hey guys, sorry if this is posted in wrong thread, this is the closest in relation to the topic.

Enter me, a late high school student who is really into computers.
Since i began to really delve/break/build/fix/blowup computers, I have been on the lookout for possible jobs/carers after i leave schooling. Something that has recently caught my eye is CEH (Certified ethical hacking). How would you suggest someone who has realistically no hacking skills goes about learning said skills, were should i start?

Is this the right starting path just to learn the basics? Should I look else were or learn myself?

Speaking from my own experience certificates have very low chance of getting a job i would suggest going to a 4 year university and do information systems technology and pick network security track reality is ethical hacking is usually just 1 class in most universities you would need a very broad range of computer subjects to completely understand what is actually going on.

I was planing a course in Computer science, but nothing is set in stone at the moment, but College (its actually Uni for me) is a must in my eyes.

OK, then, go to uni. 'Certified Ethical Hacker' is but a tiny part of what you might learn.

no problem also look for for a university where they allow students to work over at network engineering for the school as experience in a job like that while going to school at the same time would be invaluable i probably gained more experience at network engineering than actual school when i did it and putting down 4 years of experience on resume = job over every other student with no experience.
