Solved! How to connect acer aspire 5738 to lcd tv

I have connected my acer to my lcd tv via an hdmi cable bu can't get sound

Depending on what kind of graphics card it has, you'll have to install the sound driver for it to get it working. If the driver is already installed, go to the sound properties and set the hdmi sound output as the default sound device.
