How to connect an Atak hdmi dvd player to a Phillips tv

Since we can't guess what inputs the TV has I would suggest you use HDMI as your first choice. The DVD also has AV output but that will not give you as good a picture.
If the TV has component video you could get an active HDMI to component video plus audio converter. A passive cable won't work.
