how to connect benq projector to audio receiver

Hi,I have Benq 1070 model and I am trying to connect my projector to Onkyo receiver.My receiver has 1 HDMI output When I connected my laptop to projector and one HDMI from projector to receiver still I get sound only thru in built speaker in the projector .Can anyone suggest me how I can solve the pdoblem.?

If you connect your laptop to the receiver and the receiver to the projector (both with HDMI) that would work.
