how to connect my toshiba dvd player to my sharp smart tv

I have a Sharp smart tv and would like to connect my Toshiba DVD player to it. I have connected the red,white and blue plug to the tv, but I don't know what to do next. Thank you, Lynn

On the tv or tv remove, change the 'Source' to that of the dvd player. The red-white-yellow cable is also known as an RCA cable so in the TV's menu for Sources, I would first look for that.

On some TVs there is a shared composite (1 RCA) -component (3 RCA) video input. You would need to select composite in the TV menu to get a picture. Both require two additional RCA cables for sound.
