I have a Samsung UN60FH6003F. I want to connect to a Yamaha YAS-101 soundbar. The soundbar only has 2 Optical inputs and a STB input (looks like RCA style with orange color).

The TV has HDMI1(DVI), HDMI 2.
Then has Comp/AV in with YVideo, Pb, Pr and L&R Audio.

I got an Analog to digital convertor, but doesn't seem to work. I plugged the red and white RCA into TV, to convertor, then optical to soundbar.

My ultimate goal is to get rid of cable. I have an Apple TV and will get a Roku (both have optical), but my DVD player and digital antenna need to go through the TV and the TV sound is not good.

My TV does not appear to have ARC, or an option to send to external speakers.

What about something like this:http://www.primecables.com/p-352871-cab-5557-4x1-hdmi-switch-with-analog-digital-coaxial-and-digital-optical-audio-outputs?gclid=CKuzioyFz9MCFQQIaQodsv0L5w

Up to 4 HDMI in to the box, and then a single HDMI from there to the TV - with the optical going from the box to the soundbar?

Should achieve what you want to accomplish?
