How to connect Sony Dz 140 home theater with LG smart TV Lf590t

Hi.. Im having trouble to connect both of this device.

When i watch dvd, the home theater systems work fine. But when i want to watch TV or NetFlix, theres no sound coming from the home theater. I tried to connect using red yellow and white cable it still cant hear any sound except from the tv. Is the audio return channel got some thing to do with this? Help!!

Problems solve. I just use a normal cable which have red and white connects both to single cord cable. Then go to the setting on my tv and select headphone as out put.
