I searched the forums, but have not found a netbook which optimizes my three priorities.
■Durability
■Long Real Battery Life
■Smallness
I want a small, durable gadget with long battery life, that I may type as often as possible if I wish. I consider buying a Pre and a folding keyboard, as well. The following article, however, piqued my interest in EEE pcs:

I want this laptop to have long battery life, durability, and small size, in respective order of importance. I will search for several months, and make my purchase after I careful thought.
Give me advice about how to go about my search.
Also, what brands and models must I avoid, and, more importantly, why?

I am a skinflint, however, and welcome any ideas you might have for saving money.
I will not pay unreasonable shipping fees.
2_What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?
10" to 11"
3_What screen resolution do you want?
No Object
4_Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?
Portable
5_How much battery life do you need?
As much as possible under budget
I will purchase 2 batteries of the highest ampere*hour rating available for it.
6_Do you want to play games with your laptop?
No.
7_What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo / Video editing,watching movies, Etc.)
Taking notes in class, using in car
8_How much storage (H.D.D Capacity) do you need?

I prefer ASUS because of their reputation for reliability on this forum, and the few problems reported with their products on this forum.
I dislike HP based on the quality of all of the products of theirs that I have purchased, especially the poor hardware compatibility of their computer products.

It will run Arch linux.
I prefer a metal frame, for durability.
I weakly prefer that this laptop will fit in my overcoat or cargo pants pocket.
