How to fix Norton 360 error 8504, 101

My computer has been running very slow and seems to "freeze" during opening of applications or when running applications and the only way I can break it free is to ctl-alt-del to bring up task manager; I don't do anything with Task Manager but, just bringing it up seems to "get the computer's attention" and it starts processing again as soon as I close the Task Manager.

So I brought up Norton's 360 to run a scan and I've received the error "Norton 360 has encountered an error. Error: 8504, 101

If its related to updates, try as is says. update later, Give it an hour or so. It worked for me
