Hello. I had bought a new TV and I want to use the speakers from my old stereo system. I tried digital audio cable (orange) and it did not work. What cable or splitter do I need?
If you only have the speakers from your old stereo then you will need an amplifier to drive them.
If your TV only has a digital audio output then you will need an amp with a coax digital input or a DAC to convert it to analog.
The TV remote volume will not affect the digital output.
The black port on the stereo is not a headphone jack, its the same size as the orange cable. There has to be a solution as far as cables and adapters go without getting into Bluetooth which my new TV does not offer.
