How to identify sender of texts

Hello,
I am receiving texts from a number and when I try to contact the sender, it is not the correct number. How do I trace the sender's correct number

They're probably texting you from a messaging app like "Go SMS" or "Text Me!"

The numbers are on a per user basis so you can reply to them, but they're being sent via a data connection not the cellular connection. Ie, being sent through WiFi.

Just call the carrier and have the number blocked if they're harassing you.
