How to keep the Eco settings OFF?

How to keep the eco settings from taking effect? I have a hard time seeing the screen which keeps switching back to the dimmer eco settings. Anything I do seems to have no effect.

It is a Toshiba Tecra A50-C.

Looks like Toshiba bundles a Display Utility. I would imagine you can adjust that feature there. You may also be able to adjust in your Power management settings (Control Panel/Power).

I have adjusted it in Control Panel/Power but it just seems to flip back of its own accord. Thus my frustration. Thank you for your input.

Do you have the Display Utility installed? Does is affect the Eco setting?

Also, are you using a Toshiba power profile or a Windows power profile?

I don't mean to be stupid, but I'm not sure. When I go to the Battery Power options I use either the balanced or the one I set up myself. Eco is on there as well, and everytime I switch it to balanced it seems to switch back to eco itself. However, yesterday I saw (told you my eyes were bad 😉 the little eco power button on the mouse pad and pressed that. Nothing initially seemed to happen but so far it hasn't switched back. So maybe it was just "on" and I turned it "off" by doing that?
