I have this toshiba laptop from 2013, and so far so good, no problem at all, its just in the past year its gotten slower, so im thinking to add the ram.

The question is
how do I know how many ram I have now
the max ram I can have
and which type of ram do i need?

According to toshiba spec my laptop has 2 slots, 6gb ram, and expandable to 16gb

Here is the information I got from direct x diagnostic & spec that I got from internet

Thanks

It depends on workload and if you're using up all that ram.
BTW - you can't go 2x6GB, because there are no 6GB ram modules, only multiples of 2 (1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB).

You'd get more improvement on your laptop, if you upgraded from that slow 5400rpm drive to SSD.

Go to a ram web site like Kingston and access their upgrade app.
Enter your make/model of laptop and you will get a list of supported upgrades.

I doubt that ram is the issue; you likely need to have the cpu cooler cleaned out.
If the cpu overheats, it will slow down.

The spec is correct. Your laptop uses DDR3 1600mhz SODIMM ram modules.
You can use CPU-Z to get more info about system ram.

Yeah I have many junks, only 50gb left from 500gb. As for ccleaner, I run it every week.
I just downloaded driver booster, and updated all the driver, so far it seems to run a bit like normal, however, I want it to be like the first time I bought it if possible.

Do you guys know if adding more rams will make the speed faster (noticabele)?

Ok, thanks for your confirmation.
So this is the name DDR3 1600mhz SODIMM I should search on amazon?

Do you know if it will be noticeable if I go for lets say 2x 6gb ram? or even 2x 8gb ram?

Thanks again
