how to locate bios backup battery gateway zx6900

I reset my bios password to off, but now cannot access either the bios or Windows. I read that I can remove the battery or short the chip but I cannot find either on the motherbard. Anu idea where it might be?

What do you mean reset bios password to off? Might need to contact gateway.

I went into the bios security section, entered my password and then entered nothing on the section for new password. I then got a notice that the password was turned off. .

What happened now when you trying to boot? blank screen? beep? error message?

I get a screen with "Enter Current Password". It does not accept the old password, a blank entry or any of the backdoor passwords I discovered on the web. I figured I could remove the backup battery or the bios chip but I can not find either. There is nothing on the motherboard in sockets except for memory chips. There does not appear to be a battery of any sort, unless it is hidden in the power supply.

It is a blue box? sound more like the HDD password. are you sure you didn't reset the bios?
Sound like you need to contact Gateway.
