Here is how you can assign a password to the portable WiFi Hotspot in Android:

1. Go into "Settings" and then tap "More".

2. Next tap "Tethering & Portable Hotspot"

3. Turn on the WiFi Hotspot and then tap the name of your Hotspot.

4. In the WiFi Hotspot settings, tap "Set up WiFi Hotspot" under the "Basic settings" section.

5. Now you will be able to choose a new SSID name and choose a security type. You should really choose "WPA2 PSK". Then enter the password you want to use.

6. Tap "Save" and you are good.

7. Just remember, now you will have to enter the password when you try to connect to this Hotspot from your computer.
