How to Pair a Game Controller with an Amazon Fire TV

One of the coolest things about the Amazon Fire TV is how it lets you pair multiple remotes, or even game controllers, at once. If you want to link a game controller with your new Fire TV device, use the steps below to help you figure out the process and start gaming on your Amazon Fire TV.

Step 1
First of all, you will need to have a controller that is compatible with Fire TV. You can buy a specific controller for this purpose from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DU0ZI8Q), though most Bluetooth game controllers will work just fine.

Step 2
Boot up Amazon Fire TV until the Home screen appears. From there, navigate to the Settings menu and select “Controllers.”

Step 3
From the controllers menu, find and choose “Bluetooth Gamepads.” Another sub-menu will pop up, at which point you will want to find and select the option that will allow you to “Add Bluetooth Gamepads.”

Step 4
Your Amazon Fire TV will begin searching for wireless remote signals. To pair your controller to your Fire TV, press and hold down the Home button on the controller for several seconds. When the controller pops up in the devices list, select it to complete the pairing process! You will need to make this selection with the remote that came already paired to your Fire TV.

Recap
That’s it! Now, you’ll not only be able to game on your Amazon Fire TV, but you’ll also be able to navigate the system using your game controller. Enjoy!
