How to remove Ipaq h2210 CF cover?

Any tips. Which way does it come off? I don't want to break anything. It
seems quite securely stuck on there.

?? The cover comes out by sliding up as a CF card would. Use your fingernail
under the lip in back where the cutout is and lift up. I'd call it an insert
though, rather than a cover, in case you had a Jornada and are thinking of
the cover that came off the back to support CF IIe formats. There isn't a
cover like that.

Excellent, got it thanks, just seemed it needed a little more pressure than
I would have liked to put on it for fear of breaking something.

Couldn't agree more - and there's nothing in the manual to explain it!
