How do I replace cd-rom drive on Gateway Solo 2500 laptop?

Take a look at the sticky thread at the top of the forum. It should give you a general idea on how to take apart a laptop and in the process replace the optical drive.

turn the laptop upside down, locate 1 screw that hold the drive in place, usually its in the middle at the rear of the drive. remove that screw and pull the drive out.
