How to schedule Litecoin mining

Hi I started Litecoin mining today and I realized leaving my gpu at 100% for long periods of time is a bad Idea so I was thinking of scheduleing mining "sessisons" with gui miner but could not find a way to do it my temp soulution is to underclock my gpu to 750 mhz it is an r9 270 does anyone have a better way

Nothing wrong with leaving your GPU at 100%, so long as it's not overheating.

Underclocking it is probably a good idea though, as most cards are more efficient at lower clock speeds.

I've had 2 7970's mining LTC for 2 years straight. It's not going to hurt it if your temps are ok. What temperature does it reach?

I Haven't been monitoring the temp and when I am using the computer I do game on it I turn of the mining anyway so I think I will make a mining mode from afterburner with low clock low power and high fan usage
