Solved! How to set up headphones on your laptop

G'day, Folks,

I would like to set up my headphones to be able to use the in-built voice recognition on my Toshiba laptop. The headphones are the type that has a swinging micrphone to position it near your mouth. I am vey much a beginner and any help would be appreciated.
