how to switch between microphones

see i bhought a headset for my laptop . which had two cables audio and mic for which i use splitter(2female and 1 male)
now how to switch my microphone from in-built to headset one?

When you plug in the headset it should set the headset mic as default. If not you can go to the audio manager and select which mic to use as default.
