How to unlock the bios password on an acer laptop

I have an Acer Aspire 5315 laptop and the BIOS password is being looked for. Unfortunately the password is forgotten. I have opened the cover on the back of the laptop and I note the little watch-type battery is soldered into place. I cannot see the 3 pin jumper that someone recommended changing.

Please help.

On more modern laptops, unsoldering the battery may simply delete settings such as the date. Passwords are often stored in flash memory which isn't affected.

You may need to speak to Acer and be prepared to prove ownership.

Just as fihart said, be prepared to show proof of ownership if you want it unlocked.
