The only way you can update it is if there is an update showing in the "Settings" of the phone. If nothing is there, then the phone cannot be updated.

Oh you could consider rooting it (not something I ever recommend btw) however that has a lot of risk, and isn't an 'update'. It is a forced installation of another version of Android. Again not something I recommend. It can so easily brick your device.
