How to use a combo jack with a headset.

I bought a beexcellent headset and have a combo jack. However, when I plug it in I can't only use the headphones. How do I make it work without buying an adapter?

Many jacks on laptops are not actually combo jacks. However if yours is labeled as being one, and it isn't working correctly, then you may want to contact the manufacturer (if it is still under warranty). If it isn't you would have to either replace the jack with the correct kind or you could try getting a little 3.5mm to USB converter and connect via the USB port.
