How to watch free to air tv with no optical point

I have a Panasonic plasma tv and want to watch free to air tv but it does not have a optical point

What do you need an optical port for? Over the air TV would require an antenna and a coax connector on the TV. You would have to check the spec's of your TV to verify it has a digital tuner.

Sorry yes it is a coax connector, the tv does not have a digital tuner, I think my only option is to get a set top box

Yes, you would have to get an over-the-air digital tuner box. They are pretty inexpensive and available all over. The thing to search for is an "ATSC Tuner" Something like this -- https/www.amazon.com/ViewTV-AT-163-Digital-Converter-Player/dp/B00GGVPKKC
