Question how to youtube update

Youtube won't play on my iPad -it's asking for an update. I can't seem to find how. It's an older iPad mini.

No iPad will support any form of Windows.

Is your iPad running the most current iOS version that it can support?

My iPad is OS 9.5.3 the most current version for it- and the only available youtube app is OS 10 so it looks like I need to find an older version.

Have you installed an additional browser, other than Safari? If so, can you play YouTube content via that browser?

It's because the older iPad won't accept OS 10-the only way to get youtube but here's how I did it. Open Safari, enter Youtube. that's it. and put the icon on the home screen using one of the tabs on top (which I had to open to find) Lesson-Use the simplest way first instead of digging here and there for days-go to youtube and put in your question. In this case "install Youtube on an older iPad."
