If you have active* speakers, these days it usually means they include a built-in power amplifier and power supply (sometimes also pre-amp and volume control).

Can be linked to the line-out socket(s) of a computer or CD player, mixer or pre-amp -- or to tape output of an integrated amplifier.

Determine which kind of input sockets your active speaker has and find a cable which matches them to the output of the device you want to hook it up to.

* In a public address system "active speakers" may also include models with separate inputs for each driver for use with an external crossover (sometimes in the circuit ahead of separate ampliders for each driver).
