For comparison - you can get a HP Pavilion dv6t 15" "Sandy Bridge" Core i5 2.1GHz w/ AMD HD 6770M graphics card for about $850
CPU upgrade to i5-2410M and GPU upgrade to HD 6770 and use the $100 off coupon.
Only 4GB RAM and no Blu-Ray player in this combo.
But overall, should be better @ Gaming.

Check the StarCraft 2 benchmark for each card. I think you're seeing the a Llano CPU used with the HD 6750 vs a Sandy Bridge CPU in use with the HD 6770M.

For someone interested in gaming as the first priority, I think the Pavilion dv6t i5-2410M/Radeon HD 6770M combo is easily worth the extra $50.

And what about extended warranties?

I know warranties are pushed pretty frivolously and places like Best Buy don't have the best customer service, but if a laptop fails it's not like the customer can do anything to fix it.

Hello MoscowComrade;

A DIY repair to a laptop is possible for some common faults.
If you're interested in extended warranties you're much better off buying one from the MFGR instead of BestBuy.

That $800 HP dv6-6135dx A8-3500M/HD 6750M looks fairly priced, considering it has a Blu-Ray player included. That's a part that isn't needed for gaming and drives the price up. It would have been nice to see a 7200rpm HDD as well.
Overall it's going to be decent in gaming. The CPU might hold the GPU back in some CPU intensive games like StarCraft 2.
