That's roughly $1,700.

What do you think?
Main purposes will be neverwinter nights 2, guild wars, wow, mp3 playing, photoshop, web design, possibly some java & c if I get caught without my desktop.

WXGA+ is what it has.

Hmm.. i'm not sure how I feel about that.
What do you think? Still suitable for gaming?

I guess it's the screen that had cutbacks to allow the x1800 to fit into my price range.

Since I don't know your price range. For $1700 USD that's a good laptop for gaming. Unless you have more $$$$$ 1 gig more ram. Plus 7900GT Would be alot better.

My price range is £900-1000
I haven't found any 7900 systems for that price, and only one x1800 system. [This one]

I think there is the option of me shoving some more ram and a C2D cpu into it in a few years time when the warranty is gone.

That's quite tempting though..
Not sure if my wallet would expand that far, but the extra MHz on the CPU & RAID is nice.


$1700 for a 1.86GHz Core Duo, 1gb of DDR2-533 RAM, X1800 GPU on a 1440x900 WXGA+ screen ain't too shabby now, is it?
