Solved! HP 15-da0076nr laptop does not startup after SSD upgrade

My friend handed me a laptop that does not start at all. The fan does not even come on. I've been looking at the blogs and trying several different options to get the laptop to come up in BIOS or windows mode to use some tools, but no luck. I have checked the battery, power charger, reseated RAM, disconnected the video and tried an external HDMI TV for the monitor and no luck. When I push the on button, the power indicator light goes on for about 5 seconds then goes off. the fan does not start, and no other indications occur. This happens if I have the battery in, the battery in with the charge chord, or without the battery and the charge chord alone.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any ideas. I'll be happy to start from scratch on any checks that might help.

Yep, I figured things were heading in that direction. I thought I would give the forum a shot before replacing parts.
