Hp 530 battery problem

hi

i have a hewlett packard 530 laptop, recently it has started to ramdomly switch off without warning when being powered by just the battery.
if i plug charger in it doers not have this problem with or with out the battery

im assuming its a battery problem but im no laptop genius, can anyone suggest or offer any help

Definitely sounds like a dead battery. How long have you had it?
