HP 6930P Display Upgrade

Is it possible to move from a 1280x800 crap screen to a 1440x900 pimp screen? Hope the answer is yes... I'd take great pleasure in smashing the current screen to the replacement laptop I just got at work.

All the lcd sites seem to suggest that resolutions cannot be mismatched. Wondering if this is a general statement that has a few exceptions.
