My macbook fried while I was at school to I rush ordered a HP dv6qt because it could get here in 2 days.

ever since I got it the wireless has been wonky. Unless im literally right under the router in the library/ lecture hall I only get 2-3 bars, and sometimes I get as little as 1 bar/ no connection at all. With my old macbook I got 4 bars consistently, and everyone else I know gets 4 bars too. Also, when I'm at home I can't get internet at all from my room which is 50 feet over from the router, though my 5 year old HP dv6500 can get 3-4 bars from the exact same spot.

has anyone else had similar issues and if my wireless card is bad can anyone recommend a strong replacement that will work with my machine

check your power settings to make sure that windows isn't cutting power to wireless card.

beyond that, it could just be a crappy wireless adapter
