HP Envy 17 plugged in and no charge

Lately my HP 17 doesn't charge while plugged in. The strange thing is when I lift the front end and lean the laptop on the back right corner, pretty much on the a/c charge port (while plugged in) it will change from (plugged in, not charging) to (plugged in, charging). This leads me to believe that the problem is hardware not software. Any ideas on what the solution is?

I had to replace the jack on my friends HP 17 just a few months ago for a very similar issue.
