Hi, My friend's hp laptop beeps continuously during post screen and sometimes during windows logo. Bios version is Insyde h20 setup utility. Whats that beep mean? Windows runs fine. Only crash when surfing internet.

I dont find the meaning of continuous beep code in web. Can any one tell me if there is hardware issue?

Thanks

if that doesn't help then try to reset CMOS by removing cell BATTERY.

alot of older hp's have nvidia graphics (DV2000 - DV6000 - DV9000)

if its one of those theres a 90% chance it has an nvidia gpu/chipset (AMD models)

if so, 99% chance the motherboard is dead because of the gpu.

Thank nvidia.

The laptop is intel i3 cpu based. First gen core i3 and intel chip. Windows runs fine. Its dont look like dead mobo. I will try reseat ram first.

I count continuous 35 beeps. Checked laptops built in diagnostic. No problem found. How do i sure if it is faulty mobo?

try to reset CMOS, also reset the cpu unplugg HDD then plug it correctly. But I'm pretty sure that is RAM issue how much stick you have try individually.

then there is no way to solve it, you can do it anyway it's not too difficult just open the screw and open it carefully (there you can see a cell just remove it then put it again) this is the way for reseting CMOS. what about the rams had you done what i said in my previous posts.

I reseat ram but no luck. Even i check his laptop with my laptop's ram. Same beep. Cant reset laptop's battery. Its sticks with wire. Its dont even look like battery. I told him to go hp serivice center. I think its mobo which is faulty.

It has to be the keypad... if u can manage, detach the keypad and start the laptop.. the beeps should stop..

of course this reply is pretty much late but could be helpful to people with similar problem..
